Bandits Invade Plateau Communities, Kill Five, Rustle Cattle

Somewhere in Northern Nigeria, villages sacked by bandits during one of their attacks.

Following attacks by bandits in Wase Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State, five people have been reported dead while hundreds of cattle have been rustled.

The attacks took place separately on Shegyam and Dogon Ruwa villages of Wase LGA of the state.

AllNews Nigeria gathered that the attacks took place on Wednesday morning.

The bandits were reported to have attacked Shegyam village and killed two persons before proceeding to Dogon Ruwa where they killed three others.

The bandits also went away with hundreds of cows according to a resident, Abdullahi Usman, as reported by Daily Trust. 

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the police command in Plateau State, DSP Alabo Alfred said he could not ascertain the actual figure of casualties as an investigation is still ongoing.

Meanwhile, he explained that the command received reports from the field which indicated that one person was wounded and taken to the hospital for proper medical attention.

He further stated that as soon as he gets the full report of the incident, he would make it available.

Recall that Wase had witnessed a series of bandit attacks in the past months which have caused the loss of lives and destruction of properties in the council area.
