Bandits kidnap 11 family members, 36 others in Zamfara commu

Bandits have carried out a devastating attack on Danbaza community in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, kidnapping 47 individuals.

It was gathered that the incident occurred Monday morning.

According to Mustapha Danbaza, a resident of the village, eleven people from a single family were among those abducted during the attack.

Danbaza further noted that just a few weeks ago, bandits attacked a commercial vehicle carrying passengers in the same area of Danbaza.

Unfortunately, there has been no information regarding the fate or whereabouts of the victims from that earlier incident.

Maradun, the hometown of former Governor Bello Matawalle, who now serves as Minister of State for Defense, has been repeatedly targeted by armed bandits, resulting in ongoing security challenges for the community.

The most recent attack was unleashed by bandits in the area in Gora community, where several persons were abducted.

Janbako and many other villages have been under constant armed bandit attacks for some time now.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Yazid, said he would confirm the incident and report back to newsmen.
