On June 10, 2024, settlements in the Kankara Local Government Area were the focus of the onslaught.

In a news release, ASP Sadiq Abubakar, the spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, said that 15 innocent people were killed by gunmen on motorbikes who stormed Gidan Boka village.

Sadly, they also attacked a police patrol squad that was responding to a distress call close to Kurmeji village, murdering two members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, KSCWC, and four police officers—three inspectors and one corporal.

As they made their way to their hideouts via Dan Nakwabo hamlet, the bandits are said to have slaughtered five more residents.

As per CP Aliyu, the command is collaborating with pertinent parties to avert future incidents and guarantee the apprehension of those responsible for the heinous deed.
