Bandits Kill 937, Kidnapped 1,962 In Kaduna In 2020 – Report

No less than 937 people were killed in Kaduna State by bandits and 1,962 others were kidnapped in 2020.

This was disclosed by the Kaduna State Government through its Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, on Wednesday.

The Commissioner made a presentation of the 2020 Security report before the traditional rulers, members of the civil society organizations and the media at the Government House in Kaduna.

Aruwan said despite the challenges, the government in collaboration with security agencies is doing everything to bring the problem to an end.

Out of the number of casualties, the commissioner disclosed that the Igabi Local Government Area of the state has the highest number of 152 deaths, while Zango Kataf Local Government followed with 114 deaths

No doubt, the activities of bandits have crippled the socio-economic activities in more than seven local government areas of the state. The seven local governments include Igabi, Giwa, Chikun, Zango Kataf, Zaria, Kajuru, Kaura, and Jamaa.

The security problems in the state did not just affect the means of livelihood, it has also claimed several lives, many have sustained permanent injuries while hundreds of others are internally displaced.
