Five passengers, including a vigilante member, have been killed by suspected terrorists along the Sabon Gari-Kampani Road, Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.
A source disclosed that the victims were murdered by bandits terrorising the area.
Speaking on the incident, a resident of Wase town who spoke on the condition of anonymity revealed that the vigilante member and another person were ambushed by the terrorists, while the remaining three were killed during a stop-and-search operation.
The source said 20 passengers were abducted after the bandits attacked the passengers.
Elaborating further, he said that the vigilante member and the other person were on a motorcycle from Sabon-Gari to Kampani when the bandits attacked them, killed them, and went away with their motorcycle.
"Later, when the villagers were returning after market hours, they were stopped and kidnapped. Three of them were killed", the source added.
The police is yet to confirm the incident as of the time of filing this report.
