Barca On Chelsea's Raid To Sign Free Agent Rudiger After Christensen Signing

Cash-strapped Barcelona are raiding free agents at Chelsea's backline as they swoop in to sign Antonio Rudiger after completing the transfer of Andreas Christensen.

According to a Sky Germany report, Rudiger’s agent and half-brother, Sahr Senesie, was filmed meeting with Barcelona’s director of football, Mateu Alemany and his advisor, Jordi Cruyff at a hotel in Barcelona, on Wednesday evening.

Senesie spent around three hours in talks with Barcelona’s chiefs, who left the hotel close to midnight.

Rudiger’s contract with Chelsea will expire at the end of the season and the Blues are unable to offer him a new deal due to the restrictions imposed on them by the UK government following Roman Abramovich’s sanction.

The centre-back has rejected multiple offers to remain at Chelsea, the latest being a deal worth close to £200,000 a week.

Barca President Joan Laporta confirmed earlier that the club have signed both Christensen (Chelsea) and Frank Kessie from AC Milan on free transfers.
