Barcelona Captain,  Lionel Messi Reportedly Triggered His Re

Barcelona' captain Lionel Andre Messi has reportedly triggered his release clause which permits him to leave the club on his own terms with the Argentine not happy with what is happening at the club. After the consecutive losses by Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, Messi has told Barcelona he wants to leave.

The Maestro signed a deal back In 2017, which made him as of 2019 the highest-paid athlete in the World but included a stipulation allowing him to leave the club for free at the end of any season. ESPN reports the clause expired on May 30, meaning he's staying with Barcelona at least until the end of his contract next summer.

With all the crisis in Barcelona, the 33-year old 6-time World Best Footballer wants to leave the Catalonia capital club and he made that known to the club through fax late on Tuesday evening. It has caused so much tension in Barcelona and all over the football world.'

Clubs such as Manchester City, Inter Milan, and Paris Saint Germain are all on high alert to see if they could snap up the diminutive playmaker as a free agent.

Barcelona might not want him to leave especially with that clause expiring in May which might spring some legal action against their club all-time goal scorer.
