Barcelona Midfielder, Ivan Rakitic is set to rejoin Sevilla after he completed his medical at Seville on Monday, ahead of his move back to his former club. He was the captain of Sevilla before leaving for Barcelona in the summer of 2014.

He still has one year left on his contract so he did not leave as a free agent but the two clubs have agreed on a nominal fee for his return back to Seville.

Rakitic 32, agreed a two-year deal with the option of a third, will earn 2.7 million Euros per year which is a huge decrease to his 7 million Euros in Barcelona.

The former Schalke 04 man spent 6 seasons at the Camp Nou winning the La Liga (4), UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Champions League, Club World Cup, Copa del Rey (4), and the Spanish Super Cup (2).

In his 310 appearances for Barcelona, he has scored 35 goals and provided 42 assists. He has also played for other teams outside Spain, with Schalke 04, and Basel.
