Barcelona record 3-1 away win over Unionistas de Salamanca

Barcelona triumphed over fellow Spanish side Unionistas de Salamanca in the Copa Del Rey contest as the Catalans travelled to face their counterparts on Thursday night.


The Barcelona side would be the favourites in this match but the home side gave them something to worry about in the early exchanges.


They took the lead a minute after the half-hour mark as Alvaro Gomez scored to gift the home side the 1-0 lead in the encounter. Gomez was set up by teammate Juan Serrano.


However, Xavi and his side responded with a goal in the 45th minute as Ferran Torres scored to make it 1-1 at the stroke of half-time (45th minute). Barcelona's goal was assisted by Joao Felix.


Barcelona continued to mount further pressure against the home side and they were rewarded for thief effort with a goal in the 69th minute.


Defender Jules Kounde scored to gift his side a 1-2 lead for the first time in the game. He was set up by teammate Pau Cubarsi.


It soon became 1-3 in favour of Barcelona as they got the third goal from defender Alejandro Balde in the 73rd minute of the match. He was assisted by fellow defender Jules Kounde.


It finished 1-3 as Barcelona advanced to the next stage of the Copa Del Rey at the expense of home side Unionistas de Salamanca.
