Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has resigned with the increasing fan pressure, the vote of no confidence, and a fall-out with Lionel Messi.
AllNews understands that the latest 1-3 loss at Camp Nou increased the pressure leading to his resignation.

Bartomeu, who became president in 2014 has served for over 6 years now, with the election scheduled for March, his latest failures have led to his call for resignation from within and out of the club

His tussle with club major figure, Captain Messi which caused the Argentine to hand in a transfer request in August through a burofax had turned 'culers' against him.

Messi said in his exclusive with Goal, that "he felt deceived by Bartomeu" following his failed summer move.
The forward agreed to stay at the club but resentment against Bartomeu has been growing in the past year due to worsening finances and the team's decline on the pitch, which saw them lift no major silverware last season.
With Bartomeu out, the club will probably hold an early election to have a new leader.
