Barcelona Sacks Sporting Director, Eric Abidal As Part of Massive Restructuring At Club

Eric Abidal is the 3rd person whose position is at stake at the club but the 2nd person to be leaving the club after the dismissal of the first-team coach, Quique Setien after such an embarrassing loss to Bayern.

"Barcelona and Eric Abidal have reached an agreement for ending of the contract that united the two parties" the club statement reads.

The 3rd person whose position is at stake is the club's president himself, Josep Maria Bartomeu. The election at the club has been moved up to March next year at the club which could mean the END to his reign at the club.

The club thanked Abidal for his time at the club and wished him the best in all his endeavors. The former Barcelona left-back had made a lot of financial benefits to the club with the purchase and sales of players but the football impact of such decisions had called his decision making into questions.

He is relieved of his duty but he has the experience and the technical know-how to continue in a managerial position in the future in another club.
