Barcelona's Dembele Injured After Just 20 Minutes Of Play

Ousmane Dembele injured

Barcelona's Frenchman Ousmane Dembele will be out of play for the next match after straining a semimembranosus muscle of his left hamstring ruling him out of the trip to Celta Vigo on Saturday.

Dembele was brought in by Barca's interim coach Sergi Barjuan on Tuesday against Dynamo Kyiv in the 65th minute for 17-year old Gavi. His importance to the squad was instantly felt as he used his pace and dribble to cause problems for Dynamo's defence.

Barca managed to win the match thanks to Ansu Fati's strike which takes them second on the UEFA Champions League table behind Bayern Munich.

This marks his return after over 6 months of not playing in the first team. It would be a great relief for Barcelona to see him step on the pitch especially with the loss of Aguero to injury but as it stands he might have suffered a relapse.

Another injured player is Sergino Dest, the United States player who is suffering from lower back pain will not be available for the Celta's game.

According to the medical team, their return date is still unknown.

Barcelona currently sit at 9th on the La Liga table will need all hands on deck to keep pace with the top 4 race.
