The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has appreciated the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and its 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for a successful party retreat.
The governor who was elected the new Chairman of the PDP Governors' Forum during the retreat, appreciated other party members and stakeholders for their support for the retreat which was held on June 3, Bauchi.
This was contained in a statement signed by the governor and made available by his spokesperson, Mukhtar Gidado, on Monday.
He reiterated his commitment to the party's unity in the interest of Nigeria.
"I humbly wish to use this medium to extend profound gratitude to all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) elected officials, leaders, and stakeholders who graced the recently concluded Retreat for PDP Elected Officials held in Bauchi on the 3rd of June, 2023,
"Special thanks to the 2023 PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON (Wazirin Adamawa), the acting National Chairman of PDP (Ambassador Umar lliya Damagun), all newly elected and re-elected governors, the acting Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees (Senator Adolphus Wabara), former PDP Governors, including Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, Dr Babangida Aliyu, and Senator-Elect Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the members of NWC, among others.
"Our deep appreciation also extends to former PDP Ministers, the leadership and members of the PDP Minority Caucus, and all newly elected and re-elected PDP governors, Senators and Members of the House of Representatives-elect.
"The attendance and participation at the event by all the PDP Governors and the National Assembly members-elect are both reassuring and encouraging in our efforts to reclaim our position as the leading political party in Nigeria, driven by core principles of unity, patriotism, good governance, and inclusiveness.
