Bauchi Governor Attends Opening Of Army Training Week

The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, attended the opening ceremony of the 2023 Combat Arms Training Week of the Nigerian Army in the state.

The governor declared the event open which was organised by the Infantry and Armoured Corps of the Nigerian Army.

Governor Bala said the event was to assess the combat readiness and efficiency of the army.

He added that it was also to assist in the development of new strategies to correct operational difficulties and ultimately put the Army in a better position to protect the territorial integrity of Nigeria.

The event took place on Monday, while the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya was in attendance.

The governor added that the Nigerian Army was being repositioned to professionally contain all forms of threats within and outside the country's territories. 

He further commended President Muhammadu Buhari for providing visionary leadership to transform the Army and the military as a whole.

This was contained in a statement by Lawal Muazu Bauchi, New Media aide to the governor.

According to Bauchi, Bala also appreciated the Army Chief for his strong security formations and units deployed to tackle the current security challenges in the country. 

He assured of his administration's continuous support to the Nigerian Army to effectively perform its constitutional responsibilities.

Earlier speaking, the Army Chief, Yahaya, appreciated Governor Bala for his support to the Army and other security agencies in the state.

He assured that the army would continue to support the administration to keep the state safe.
