The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed has sympathized with the governor of Bayelsa State, Duoye Diri over the demise of his father, Pa Joseph Abraham.
The governor visited Diri in Yenagoa, the state's capital on Tuesday to register his condolences.
Speaking during the condolence visit in governor Bala described the deceased as a thoughtful and responsible father of the nation.
He noted that Late Pa Abraham lived a good life and his presence will be sorely missed, adding: "His legacy, hard work, sacrifice and dedication will forever be remembered, appreciated and celebrated."
Bala, while sympathizing with the family, said: "The sorrowful event of the passage of the elder statesman leaves behind pain and discomfort in the hearts of many, especially those he has raised, built and mentored."
This was contained in a statement signed and made available on Tuesday by the Media aide to the governor, Lawal Muazu Bauchi.
According Bauchi, the governor extended condolences on behalf of the State Government and Bauchi Emirate, saying Governor Diri who is the Wakilin Kudun Bauchi is cherished by many, for his outstanding performance and exemplary leadership.
While reiterating the relationship enjoyed by the two states, Bala said their mutual friendship would be strengthened for the benefit of the citizens.
While responding, governor Diri appreciated Bala for the visit and mourning with him and the family.
Diri commended him and his entourage for the condolence visit and wished them safe return.
