The Secretary to the Bauchi State Government (SSG), Barrister Ibrahim Mohammed has distributed food items to 8,000 women in the state.
The food items were received by women groups in Bakaro under the Zauren Malam Danlami Danfulani in the state's metropolis.
The food items distributed included rice, sugar and groundnut oil.
While presenting the items on Thursday, the SSG said the move was his little effort to support the women to cushion the effects of economic hardships.
He further called on them to support the reelection bid of the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed.
He also called on them to support all candidates of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming general elections.
He noted that governor Bala has done well to improve the living conditions of people in the state.
He added that if reelected, the governor would continue the good works he has started in all the local government areas in the state.
In his remark, Malam Danfulani appreciated the SSG for the support.
He assured that the 8,000 beneficiaries would rally round to support the reelection bid of the governor and all other candidates of the PDP.
