Bauchi Vigilante Parades Suspected Thugs, Assures Of Security

The Bauchi State Vigilante and Empowerment Agency has paraded suspected thugs in the state.

The suspects were paraded on Wednesday by the Commandant General of the Agency, Alhaji Umar Aliyu Shayi.

Shayi said the suspects were arrested on Tuesday during the People's Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign.

He explained that the suspects snatched cell phones belonging to innocent citizens during the rally.

He added that some of them snatched cash sums, attacked people with machetes and other dangerous weapons.

While briefing newsmen, he said the suspects would be handed over to the police for investigation and prosecution.

Shayi further reiterated commitment of his agency to support security agencies in curbing security challenges in the state.

He also assured of security of lives and properties and improved effort in tackling the security challenges in the state. 

He further appealed to the people of the state to remain vigilante of the happenings in their surroundings.

He urged parents to monitor the activities of the children for sustainable growth and development of the state.
