Bayern Munich have admitted that a loan fee was not paid to take João Cancelo from Manchester City until the end of the season.
The City full-back joined Bayern on a short-term loan deal on deadline day, and it was reported that the German outfit have the option to buy him outright for €70 million (£62m/$76m) in the summer.
Cancelo's move to Bayern on deadline day came on the heels of his heated training ground bust-up with City boss Pep Guardiola, according to reports.
However, Bayern's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has now confirmed that the Cancelo deal had been agreed without a loan fee.
"The fact that Cancelo worked without a fee is due to the network," he told Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk.

This doesn't mean that City have jettisoned the €70 million buy option clause which isn't mandatory.
