Big Brother Naija Season 6: How 'Fake' Housemates Were Discovered

As many anxiously await the premiere of the sixth season of the BBNaija reality show, social media has witnessed a bit of confusion as several users have claimed to be contestants of the show.

For the benefit of the unaware, the identity of the show's participants is kept secret until they are officially unveiled. This is a tradition that has never been broken.

But in a surprising turn of events, some persons have presented themselves as contestants on season 6 of BBNaija, a notable example being the case of Precious Emmanuel, a participant on the last edition of The Voice Nigeria.

Many were perplexed when he posted on his Instagram stories recently, saying: "I’m going into the Big Brother Naija House tomorrow and won’t be in charge of my socials from today.

“Need all your support. Bless!”

Even more unusual was the fact that Emmanuel's exact post was replicated by a few other Instagram and Twitter users. Fortunately, he has now come forward to reveal that his account was hacked, hence the post.

"Guys, please disregard that BBN post o. My phone was hacked. No vex, I go try next year. Thanks for the love”, he wrote. "No vex, I go try next year. Thanks for the love."

BBNaija season 6 premieres on Saturday, July 24, 2021, with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returning as host.
