Bells University Postpones Resumption To March 20

The Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, has postponed its resumption of academic activities to March 20, following the postponement of governorship and State Assembly elections in the country from March 11 to 18.

The University's Public Relations Officer (PRO), Akeem Adeyemi, revealed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ota, Ogun.

Adeyemi noted that the resumption of academic activities was postponed from March 13 to March 20 as a result of the rescheduling of governorship and state Assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from March 11 to March 18.

“We, however, apologize to parents and guardians for any inconveniences that this development might have caused them,” he said.

Adeyemi assured that the management of the institution was working towards ensuring the safety of the students throughout the election period.

The PRO encouraged parents to advise their children at home against engaging in any violent acts during the elections.

Adeyemi urged members of the University community to be security conscious and report any suspicious or strange movements to the police.

AllNews Nigeria earlier reported that the Federal Government, through the National Universities Commission (NUC), on February 10, gave a directive on the shutdown of universities across the country to enable students to take part in the 2023 general elections.
