Further offering himself to bring together President Muhammadu Buhari and the catholic bishop for better understanding, Murray Bruce wrote:

"I’m catholic, and so is Bishop Kukah. The religious faith in Nigeria is vital to our coexistence and must be seen as such. I, therefore, offer myself to bring together Bishop Kukah and President @MBuhari  in the interest of Nigeria for a better understanding of each other."

Recall that Kukah in his Christmas message decried the alleged nepotism showed by the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.

Kukah pointed out that if a non-Northern Muslim President shows half of the nepotism that President Buhari led administration had shown the nation would have experienced a coup.

Reacting to Kukah's comment, the minister for Information and Culture Lai Mohammed warned religious to stop making comments that will fuel disunity amongst Nigerians.

”Calling for a violent overthrow of a democratically-elected government, no matter how disguised such a call is, and casting a particular religion as violent is not what any religious leader should engage in, and certainly not in a season of peace.

“While some religious leaders, being human, may not be able to disguise their national leadership preference, they should refrain from stigmatising the leader they had never supported using well-worn and disproved allegations of nepotism,” he said.
