Benin's Former Minister Of Justice Sentenced To 20 Years In

Rocky Madougou, the former justice minister of Benin has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for terrorism.

Th former justice minister appeared in Porto Novo before a special court, yesterday, Friday.

She is accused of leading an operation to kill political figures, prevent elections and also destabilise the country.

The opposition leader tried to contest in the country’s presidential elections but was rejected as a candidate.

Also, another opposition leader, Joël Aïvo, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by the special court on Tuesday. It has been gathered that the special court is used to silence opponents of the president.
