The Twitter space is currently on fire as employees share their own experiences with the hashtag #HorribleBosses.
An article titled “Tyranny in the workplace: The chaotic culture of Bento Africa” was published on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 and it birthed the #HorribleBosses
The article reports how CEO of Nigerian payroll startup, Bento Africa, Ebun Okubanjo and co-founder Chidozie Okonkwo terribly treat employees ranging from unconscionable curse words and verbal abuse, refusing to grant leave and time off, erratic termination without following due process amongst other allegation.
Reacting to the article, Ebun via his Twitter handle said, "“I once had a viral incident online I refused to address. Still do.
"Now the writers at @TechCabal I fired are preparing to do a hit piece to expose my flaws while hiding their incompetence,” he said.
He continued, “Like that Frankfurt picture. Social is a cut of the whole.
"Got an email of me cursing someone out. Yes that’s me. Praising someone- me too.
"I'm more than one dimension but when it comes to work – Be!”

After the publication went viral, other Nigerians shared their own experiences with the hashtag #HorribleBosses.
Yes,there are lots of horrible bosses, but truth be told, many of us are guilty of being horrible to our subordinates. Many of us have been rude to our cleaners, drivers, gatekeepers just bcos we feel we are superior than them. We needa learn to respect everyone #HorribleBosses

We have all been subordinates and experienced what it is like to work under different bosses. Some experiences good and others may have not been palatable but If we are able to grow ourselves mentally and otherwise, it will all be worth it in the end #HorribleBosses pic.twitter.com/54t3fieMe6

Imagine a boss verbally abusing me for referring to and some others as "Dear Mr Akinsola or Dear Mrs.kadi"

My offense was that they weren't my mate and they had children my age at home #horriblebosses
Excuses only enable these brands. This is a lesson to be learned and then they should improve their work culture. If this #HorribleBosses was a trend in an advanced economy, these companies would loose customers and even the work relationships they have with other brands.

Nothing justifies degrading & insulting employees.
Even if you are a start-up founder eager to produce results or a manager with a deadline,
They have emotions and self worth.
You pay them doesn’t qualify you to insult them.
Agree?#horriblebosses #ToxicWorkplace
In the work place who is supposed to maintain the balance between the employer and the employee? the HR right? but guess what, they are the most toxic people in the work place.#toxicworkplace
