Jootar, a community in Ukum Local Government Area (LGA), of Benue state on Monday tasked its resident on the need for synergy and unity of purpose.
In a summit attended by politicians, traditional rulers,clergy, academia, civil servants and community leaders of Mbayenge extraction aimed at finding solutions to the underdevelopment in Ukum LGA and particularly Mbayenge District,and the way forward for the people witnessed delegates making various contribution.
Making his presentation on the political dilemma and shortchangings of Mbayenge District in Ukum polity, APC chieftain and contender for the Ukum State Constituency seat, Engr Ezra Nyiyongo, condemned the act and advocated the need for synergy and unity of purpose among Mbayenge sons and daughters irrespective of party affiliation.
Nyiyongo stated that though Mbayenge were victims of marginalization from the previous dispensations, time has come to right the wrongs, insisting that enough is enough.
Keynote address and reflections on the presentations and goodwill messages from delegates was done by the administrator Mbayenge elite forum, Dr. Hans Senwua, who applauded the speakers for doing justice to the topics.
The District Head Mbayenge, Chief Saatyo Awua appealed to Mbayenge people to get rid of four basic factors that encourage underdevelopment.
The District Head therefore, blessed Mbayenge people for the tasks ahead.
Earlier, the Central Planning Committee (CPC) Chairman, Sir Donald Nengega, in his welcome address stressed for peaceful deliberations.
He appreciated all delegates for the sacrifices made.
