The Benue State Government has assured that the 61km Taraku-Naka-Agagbe road construction will be completed before the end of its administration.
The Honourable Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Engr. Uungwa Jude Shachia, gave the assurance weekend while addressing pressmen at the Naka-Agagbe section of the road shortly after an on-the-spot-Assessment tour of the ongoing work.
“I am here to inspect the road and make sure the construction is done according to Specification.
"The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has recently released a good sum of money to the contractor handling the road and has mandated that the work must be completed before the end of his tenure.
"I am satisfied with the ongoing work and if the company continues with this tempo, the mandate given by the governor will be met, he said.
The project manager, Karim Oshoma in his speech, confirmed the release of a substantial fund by the state government for continuity of the project after it was put on hold due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
While assuring the public that the work would be completed before the end of this year.
In the same vein, Hon Igbalumun James, Hembadoon Ukwotyough, Jimmy Yor, and John Terhemba who are residents of the benefiting communities, couldn’t hide their joy as they expressed their gratitude and thanked Gov Samuel Ortom for the laudable project, which they believe, would enhance their business and farming activities, assuring the governor of total support of their people.
