Benue Health Science Varsity Gets N3 Billion From TETFund 

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) has approved three billion naira to the Federal University of Health Science, Otukpo, Benue State for the construction of its permanent site. 

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Innocent Uja, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution disclosed this at a press conference held on Friday at the university's temporary site in Otada-Otukpo, Benue State. 

Prof. Uja clarified that the construction of the infrastructure of that institution's permanent site had begun with the fund committed to it, adding with positivity that the university will relocate to its permanent site in 2023. 

He further called for the celebration of the institution's second anniversary, while noting that it had no tolerance for vices such as cultism and sex for grades among others. 

"Let me state here the support the institution has received from TETFund; our infrastructure is adequate to start with respect to office spaces, classrooms, lecture theatres, laboratories, furniture, etc.

“With the support of TETFund, we are strengthening our staff development policy, our young lecturers are completing arrangements to send them for further training.

“We are listed as a beneficiary of TETFund intervention and it is paying off. In fact, we have benefitted worth N3 billion from TETFund," he explained. 

Professor Uja commended President Muhammad Buhari and former President Goodluck Jonathan for the establishment of the university, while also appreciating former Senate President David Mark, Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, and others, for contributing to the success of the establishment.
