Following the death of the Terwase Agwaza, also known as Gana, the Federation of Jukun Youths has said that the Nigerian army should be praised for eliminating the infamous killer.
The position of the Jukun youths was highlighted yesterday when they took to the streets in a show of support for the military.
The group said, “As far as we are concerned, Terwase Agwaza’s killing was a far-reaching success in the fight against banditry, kidnapping and terrorism in the country.”
Gana had been described by the group's national president, Agya Agbujoro, as the "most wanted criminal, who had been terrorising Benue and Taraba states."
Criticisms had emerged from various parts of the country after the death of Gana was announced.

Public Affairs Analyst, Iorgbaazan Tyosase, said, according to The Guardian, “The same people, who are currently killing soldiers elsewhere in the Northeast are given special treatment. The killing of someone, who had already surrendered to the authorities, showed just how lawless a nation could be."
He expressed curiousity in why the military was more concerned about ending banditry in other parts of the country and not the heated case of banditry plaguing the north.
In their defence of the actions of the military, the Jukun youths said that the criticism of the military was not necessary, as it was a “major breakthrough that ought to be celebrated by all and sundry, irrespective of tribe, religion and political affiliations.”
