Benue State Police Command said it arrested no fewer than eighty-three cultists and criminals across the state following a cracked down of some black spots during the festive period.
According to the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Mukadass, while parading the suspects on Wednesday, January 6, the suspects were arrested with 10 firearms and seven live ammunition.

The commissioner further disclosed that with their operation in the troubled Sankera axis of the state, the erstwhile hotbed of deceased militia leader, Terwase Akwaza, the rate of criminal activities in the area has drastically reduced.
He said that the suspected cultists were arrested between December 20 and January 5, at different locations within the State, explaining that in 2020, the command arrested and arraigned over 200 suspected cultists in court, most of whom were later convicted.
