Benue Police Command Rescues Four Kidnap Victims

The Benue State Police on Tuesday disclosed that about four kidnapped victims have been rescued by the command.

The victims were reportedly abducted on September 23, 2022, along Ijegwu-Opirikwu road, Odiapa council ward of Obi Local Government Area of the state.

Benue State Police Spokesperson Catherine Anene in a statement on Tuesday said a team of security officers were able to rescue the kidnap victims after mounting pressure on the kidnappers

Anene stated that the rescued victim have been united with their various families.

“On 25/09/2022 at about 2230hrs, after serious pressure mounted on the kidnappers, they abandoned the victims and escaped to a nearby forest.

“Victims have been rescued and reunited with their families.”

The statement noted that the Commissioner of Police, Wale Abass, had deployed more tactical teams to the area to checkmate activities of hoodlums.

 Abass advised that members of the community should volunteer useful information to the police on hoodlums’ operations within the area.
