TETFUND
The management of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has warned that some individuals are defrauding unsuspecting persons using the Funds name.
The TETFund Acting Director of Public Affairs, Abdulmumin Oniyangi, gave the warning in a statement on Tuesday, in Abuja.
Oniyangi said the faceless individuals have adopted deceptive methods to defraud the public, especially students, adding that one of the fraudulent methods was the claim of grants to Nigerian students.
He stressed that the purported claim of grants was being circulated on social media platforms with a link that directs victims to a fraudulent website.
Oniyangi added that there were also claims of recruitment, forgery of special intervention approval letters addressed to heads of beneficiary institutions.
He dissociated the fund from the claims and warned Nigerian students and members of the public not to fall prey in the hands of these faceless individuals.
The Acting Director said that TETFund is never a part of the scam and that the entire information is false.
He advised stakeholders, including students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria and the general public to be wary of fraudulent activities in the name of TETFund.
He enjoined the public to visit www.tetfund.gov.ng for clarification on the activities of TETFund.
