Nnamdi Kanu, a Nigerian Biafra political activist, and leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a group canvassing for the secession and sovereignty of Eastern Nigeria, has said that late Premier of Western Nigeria, Obafemi Awolowo 'died a sad man', AllNews reports.
Kanu made this claim on his known Twitter handle on Monday.
The controversial pro-Biafra leader shared a clip 'with the Yoruba people' and asserted that 'Nigeria was a fraud and criminal enterprise from inception'.
Awolowo, a colossal Yoruba politician, was thrice a major contender for Nigeria's highest office, albeit unsuccessfully.
The Ogun-born politician died peacefully at his Ikenne home, the Efunyela Hall (so named after his mother), on 9 May 1987, at the age of 78 and was laid to rest in Ikenne, amid tributes across political and ethno-religious divides.
