Biafra: 'I Told You They'd Come' - IPOB's Nnamdi Kanu On 'Al-Qaeda Penetrating North-West Nigeria'

Nwannekaenyi "Nnamdi" Kanu, a Nigerian Biafra political activist, and leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a group canvassing for the secession and sovereignty of Eastern Nigeria says he has been vindicated on his earlier projection that Al-Qaeda insurgent group will hit Nigeria, AllNews report.

Recall AllNews had earlier reported how the US warned that the Al-Qaeda terrorist group is gradually taking over the West African region following their displacement from Syria and Iraq.

During a recent media briefing, Dagvin Anderson, the commander of the U.S. military's special forces in Africa made the disclosure.

“We have engaged with Nigeria and continue to engage with them in intel sharing and in understanding what these violent extremists are doing,” Anderson had said.

“And that has been absolutely critical to their engagements up in the Borno state and into an emerging area of northwest Nigeria that we’re seeing al-Qaida starting to make some inroads in. 

“So, this intelligence sharing is absolutely vital and we stay fully engaged with the government of Nigeria to provide them an understanding of what these terrorists are doing, what Boko Haram is doing, what ISIS-West Africa is doing, and how ISIS and al-Qaeda are looking to expand further south into the littoral areas.”

Reacting to the worrying update on Thursday via his known Facebook page, controversial Kanu, 52, stated that tough days may lie ahead for Nigerians.
