Biafra: 'Regrettable That Ohanaeze Ndigbo Have Lost Relevance To IPOB' - OYC

Biafra: 'Regrettable That Ohanaeze Ndigbo Have Lost Releva

An Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide (OYC) has backed the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), AllNews reports.

OYC apologised for an alleged role played by the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in  IPOB’s proscription.

OYC, in a recent statement by its President-General Okechukwu Isiguzoro and Secretary-General Okwu Nnabuike, said Ohanaeze was losing its influence.

According to the group, the incumbent leadership of Ohanaeze has derailed from the vision of the founding fathers.

“In Igboland today, it’s regrettable that Ohanaeze Ndigbo had lost relevance to IPOB.

“We, therefore, apologise to all Biafra agitators all over the world,” OYC said.

'OYC is counterfeit'

Meanwhile, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing has described OYC as seeking attention.

Deputy President Kingsley Dozie said: “…There is nothing like Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide in Ohanaeze Ndigbo. What we have is Ohanaeze Youth Wing, which works hand in hand with the parent body, led by Chief Nnia Nwodo.’
