Biafra: Simon Ekpa Speaks On Factions In IPOB

Simon Ekpa, a self-styled disciple of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), says the outlawed group is “one indivisible family”, hence no faction exists.

Ekpa stated this on his known Facebook page on Thursday.

A report earlier this year, by the SB Morgen Intelligence, showed how factions are springing up in IPOB among Nnamdi Kanu and Uche Mefor, “largely because of financial resources and control”.

The African-focused research firm, in its March 2021 report, which focused on IPOB, revealed that the Biafran group at the moment “is seriously fractured, with many erstwhile key members now either with Mr Mefor or charting their own course.” But Ekpa thinks differently.

“If anybody telling you there are factions in IPOB, the person is deceiving you. Simon Ekpa has no faction in IPOB, we are one indivisible family under DOS and our women are intact,” Ekpa wrote. “Whatever you see happening is necessity, the potential of great people of IPOB worldwide is about to be unleashed for the freedom of our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Biafra.

“Whoever we are going to step on his/her toe along the line should forgive us now ahead of time.”

IPOB is a controversial separatist organization seeking for the sovereignty of Eastern Nigeria.
