Biafra political activist, Nnamdi Kanu says the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is "under a divine oath to serve the people of Biafra in truth", AllNews reports.

Kanu made this assertion on Monday on his known Facebook page while sharing a purported video of youths training to be part of the newly-formed Eastern Security Network.

Kanu's IPOB is a group canvassing for the secession and sovereignty of Eastern Nigeria.

"From Igala to Oron, from Igodomigodo to Bakassi, from Izon (Ijaw) to Ogoja. This is the greatest family on this earth, this is IPOB Batch 3 Volunteers," self-exiled Kanu wrote.

"A sea of men, uncountable in number. Imagine what will happen when the full army is assembled. My Lord and my God! The chosen children of God descended from the lineage of LIGHT.

"I thank all of you that have so far ensured that this great army of VOLUNTEERS are well fed and supported for the task of defending our land from banditry, kidnapping, extra-judicial killings by governors and all other forms of criminality.

"We are under a divine OATH to serve the people of Biafra in truth and honesty regardless of cost."

Recall AllNews had reported that in a comeback broadcast last Saturday, Kanu, the self-exiled leader of the bannned IPOB stressed that the decision was out of his passion to efficiently secure the South-South and South-Eastern regions of Nigeria.

"What we are launching today is 'Eastern Security Network' not Biafra army," the 53-year-old had said.
