Biafrans Stand With Kukah - IPOB's Nnamdi Kanu

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has said that many Easterners support Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto.

Bishop Kukah has been under severe criticism from loyalists of the ruling government as well as a section of Nigerians for criticising President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Kukah had suggested on Christmas Day 2020 that there would have been a military coup or a war in the country if a non-Northern Muslim leader had practised a fraction of the alleged nepotism indulged in by President Buhari.

A group, the Muslim Solidarity Forum (MSF), Sokoto Chapter had asked Kukah to apologise for his Christmas message to Nigerians or exit the state quietly.

The acting Chairman of MSF, Prof Isa Maishanu, while reacting to Kukah’s Christmas message, recently, stated that Kukah was trying to break the age-long peaceful coexistence between the predominantly Muslim population and their 'Christian guests'.

Reacting to the alleged threat made towards Kukah, Kanu slammed those issuing quit notice to the clergyman, saying they don't own Sokoto and Nigeria doesn't belong to them.

Kanu, 53, made known his thoughts on his known Twitter handle on Thursday.

Let me say this: #Biafrans stand with Bishop Matthew Kukah.

You damned TERRORISTS should keep off him. You don’t own #Sokoto. You don’t own #Nigeria.
