'Biggest IPOB Bomb Factory': Police Shares Details On Weapon

Following the discovery of what has been called the biggest IPOB bomb factory, the Ebonyi State Police Command has shared details of the weapon capable of mass killings.

According to the police, the recovered IEDs (improvised explosive devices) have the capability of causing colossal damage to buildings and obliterating any living thing around the area.

The IPOB camp the bomb factory was located is at Obegu, a boundary area between the Onicha-Isu and Ishielu Local Government Areas of the state.

While addressing pressmen at the command headquarters in Abakaliki on Thursday, the police spokesman, SP Chris Anyanwu, disclosed that men from the tactical teams and officers stormed the camp after receiving credible information that hoodlums were operating and wreaking havoc in the state within Ishielu axis.

“What we have here today is a complete bomb factory, the biggest so far recovered in the whole of the South-East. In fact, these IEDs are capable of destroying a very large building and doing a whole lot of massive killing of any living thing around the area.

“You can see the whole component ranging from gelatin (very large quantity), there are safety fuses, they collate all these and fabricate it themselves", he stated.

Anyanwu added that the combined efforts of detectives attached to the Ohaukwu Division led to the arrest of Sunday Ubah a.k.a Bongo, the commander of the IPOB/ESN in Ebonyi State.
