A bill upgrading the State College of Health Technology, Ilese to a fully-fledged Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences has been passed by the State House of Assembly.
The bill titled “H.B No 089/OG/2023-Re-passage of the Ogun State College of Health Technology (Amendment) Law, 2006 was passed at the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo on Tuesday.
The bill for the upgrading was passed following the presentation of a report of the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology by its Chairman, Adeyemi Ademuyiwa.
A motion for the adoption of the report had been moved by Ademuyiwa and seconded by Hon. Abayomi Fasuwa.
The motion was supported by the whole house through a voice vote, after which the bill was read and adopted clause-by–clause by the Committee of the whole house.
Hon. Yusuf Sheriff, the Majority Leader, had moved the motion for the third reading of the bill, and he was seconded by Kemi Oduwole while the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, ‘Deji Adeyemo, took the third reading of the bill before the lawmakers
The Speaker, therefore, directed that the clean copy of the bill is forwarded to Governor Dapo Abiodun for his assent.
