Gay rights activist Bisi Alimi has countered Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji's claim that mental health is more spiritual than physical.
The actress, on her Instagram page, had said that mental health is spiritual, asking her fans to rededicate their lives to the God they serve.
"Mental health is more spiritual than it is physical.
"Rededicate your life to the God you serve, Get rebaptized," she had written.
Responding, Alimi posited that there is nothing spiritual about mental health.
He advised that anyone experiencing any form of mental health challenge should seek professional help.
"Dear lovely Nigerians, there is nothing, absolutely nothing, spiritual about mental health.
"If you or someone you know is experiencing any form of mental health challenges at any stage, please see a professional that is not religious or judgemental.
"It is okay not to be okay all the time. Thanks."
In the caption, he wrote; "You are all you got, please take care of you, don’t let any misinformed individuals tell you otherwise."
