Following the swearing-in of Bola Tinubu as Nigeria's president, citizens in a show of disapproval, have taken to Twitter to express their frustrations.
President Tinubu was sworn in on Monday, May 29, and the historic moment was witnessed by a teeming crowd of supporters at Eagle Square, Abuja.
Aggrieved Nigerians who are obviously unhappy with the development are expressing themselves online, calling today 'Black Monday'.
Some of them have alleged that democracy in Nigeria was murdered when Tinubu was sworn in and their reactions below make for an interesting read.
We Elected these men, and Nigeria will seek rest and NEVER find it until it turns to Justice.
Nobody seeks unity in darkness.
Stop forcing us to take a path leading to damnation.
We won’t cower to ideas, based off
pseudo-unity in the face of rascality.

We voted for Peter Gregory Obi and Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed on February 25, 2023. They clearly won the election but INEC decided to impose a drug baron on Nigerians. Let the Judiciary stand up and save our democracy

What an #InaugurationDay.
As Ahmed Tinubu entered Eagles Square, soldiers began whipping innocent Nigerians in typical Jagaban style.

I have never felt the kind of sadness in Nigeria as I’m feeling in the atmosphere today. Even the rain that usually cools the weather is just gloomy. If Tinubu’s Lagos can be like this, how is Abuja?

Democracy can be thought of as "power of the people" a way of governing which depends on the will of the people. Democracy is a society in which the citizens are sovereign & control the government.

Peter Gregory Obi won the election, and he is rightfully becoming my president. While your party attempts to impose itself on Nigerians, engaging in humiliating and intimidating tactics, I remain unwavering in my support for Peter Gregory Obi.
I firmly believe…
