Sheikh AbdulJabbar Nasiru Kabara
Controversial Kano Cleric, Sheikh AbdulJabbar Nasiru Kabara has been sentenced to death by hanging.
The scholar was sued by the Kano State government on charges of blasphemous utterances against prophet Muhammad.
The court is still in session as the judge, Sarki Yola said the cleric is found guilty in all four charges of blasphemy levelled against him.
Just before the judgement was pronounced in a two-hour session, the accused said he will not ask for pardon as he was misjudged.
Kabara was recorded making comments considered derogatory and false to the Prophet.
He was charged in July 2021 by the Kano State government.
