Blockchain Technology: NITDA Encourages Young People To Develop Talents

Blockchain Technology: NITDA Encourages Young People To Deve

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) urged youth on Friday to advance their skills in developing technologies for the benefit of the country.

The request was made at the 2022 Blockchain Developers' Summit at Baze University in Abuja by Kashifu Inuwa, Director-General of NITDA.

Inuwa discussed how Blockchain Technology may assist with digital transformation and make it easier for Nigeria to develop its digital economy.

He declared that NITDA was dedicated to establishing, energising the Blockchain technology ecosystem, and assuring the success of Nigerian entrepreneurs.

”There are a lot of opportunities in Blockchain and it is critical in every business.

”Talent is the human component of technology and innovations with Blockchain and emerging technologies are about the new solutions one is bringing onboard.

“So, you need to task yourself to know which solutions or offerings the industry requires,” Inuwa said.

He claims that despite ethnic divisions, the moment for Nigerian youngsters to make use of the expanding digital industry to address the many problems the country is currently facing is now since creative ideas cannot be monopolised.

”Innovation is beyond invention, it needs to get to the point of commercialisation and until you can pitch your idea for someone to pay for your solutions, the innovation would, sadly, only be just an idea.”

He claims that the government is creating an ecosystem to allow young people to develop their ideas from inception to realisation.

The head of NITDA also emphasised how important it was for the participants to have venture capitalists back their creative concepts.

The D-G added that the organisation had created a blockchain adoption strategy to encourage the technology's uptake throughout the nation.

He said that it would create the Nigerian Blockchain Consortium, a topic for discussion at the summit.

Other measures to ensure the development of blockchain technology include bolstering legal and regulatory frameworks and identifying priority areas.

Other efforts include promoting literacy and blockchain, incentivizing digital innovation, and passing the Startup Bill through the National Assembly's third reading.

Inuwa urged Youth Corps members to seize the chance to launch a business before the conclusion of their service year and perhaps always make a point of being among the first to move in any digitally-related endeavour.

In addition, the D-G opened the Baze University Artificial Intelligence/Blockchain Laboratory in the presence of several leading researchers from around the world.

There were no fewer than 1,500 attendees at the summit, most of whom were National Youth Service Corps members.
