BOBA Holds 2022 Annual Lecture, Dinner, Award Event In Borno

The Barewa College Old Boys Association (BOBA) has held its 2022 annual lecture, dinner and award event in Maiduguri, the state capital of Borno. 

The association was hosted by the Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum on Saturday. 

The National President of BOBA, Engr. Dahiru Ibrahim appreciated the governor, the Shehu of Borno, and other dignitaries for their support and hosting the Association. 

The Chairman of the Board of trustees, Gen. Yakubu Gawon was represented by the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III.

The Chairman expressed gratitude to the Almighty Allah for the opportunity to hold the event in the North-Eastern State of Borno.

He noted that the event was first of its kind in the subregion since the inception of the association. 

He noted that the meeting was to discuss with the old colleagues how to moved the nation forward for better leadership in the country. 

He further made a case for the reduction of poverty in the country by leaders while calling for attention on peace, security, accountability,trust deficit and people's welfare.

In his remark, Governor Zulum appreciated the association for finding the state worthy of hosting the august event. 

He further called for leaders to be responsible in the discharge of their duties, adding that "a good leadership style gives good governance."
