Former Vice President and flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the 2019 presidential elections has reacted to the murder of 43 farmers in Borno by Boko Haram insurgents.
Atiku who revealed that he was heartbroken by the news pointed out that the lives of Nigerians should worth more than it currently worths.

Further stating that the rejig of Nigeria's security system was long overdue, Atiku wrote:
"Heartbreaking. Words fail me. The lives of our citizens should be worth much more than this. The rejig of the nation's security architecture is long overdue. May their souls rest in peace and may their families be comforted."
It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari reacted to the development after keeping num for over 12 hours.
The President who condemned the development said the government had given all the needed support to the armed forces “to take all necessary to protect the lives and properties of the country's citizens.
Also reacting to the development, former minister for Education Oby Ezekwesili faulted Buhari for refusing to react to the development 12 hours after the incident.
