'Boko Haram Is Money-Making Venture' - Ex- Ekiti Gov'ship Candidate

'Boko Haram Is Money-Making Venture' - Ex- Ekiti Gov'ship Ca

Nigeria has the capability to fight and wage war against insecurity, banditry, and insurgency ravaging parts of the country.

AllNews reports that this formed part of the submissions of a legal practitioner, Barrister Temitope Omotayo, also a Governorship Candidate in Ekiti State in 2018, while speaking recently at a forum in Ado-Ekiti.

Omotayo was answering questions on the suggestion made by Borno state Governor, Babagana Zulum that Nigeria should seek external help to fight insecurity in Nigeria.

The Lawyer was of the opinion that the nation was capable of solving the problem of insecurity if Nigerian leaders are sincere and remain committed to the course of the war against insurgency.

He described Boko Haram as a money-making venture by some set of people, thereby making it difficult to win the fight. According to him "corruption is making Boko Haram to exist".

The political enthusiast however suggested compulsory retirement of Security Chiefs who are mostly too old for the job as being clamoured by some people.

This he said would give room for the younger ones who have the required expertise to head the sensitive positions.

Speaking on the scrapping of F-SARS, Barrister Omotayo posited that disbandment of SARS alone is not enough, rather the unit and the Police Force as a whole should be reformed and rejigged for optimum performance.
