The Nigerian Army has recorded another success as over 50 senior commanders of Boko Haram and their follower's surrender in Borno State.

The insurgents numbering about 470 gave up arms to the Operation Hadin Kai of the Nigerian Army in the southern part of Borno.

Troops had intensified the fight against the insurgents in the past few weeks leading to the killing of scores of the insurgents.

According to reports, the insurgents surrendered on Tuesday at a military base in GGwoza'slocal government area of the state.

Recall that in 2014, Boko Haram led by Abubakar Shekau had announced Gwoza as their headquarters before the Nigerian troops reclaimed the territory in a fierce battle in 2015.'
