Borno Former SSG Shuwa Dies At 65

The Borno State immediate past Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Usman Jidda Shuwa, has died at the age of 65.

Shuwa served in the first tenure of governor Babagana Umara Zulum until May 28, when the governor dissolved his cabinet.

He died on Saturday evening at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

Until his demise, he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.

The family announced that his funeral prayer and burial according to Islamic rites will take place at his residence, Gambole Road, Maiduguri GRA at 2 pm on Sunday.

Late Shuwa worked as the Administration Secretary to the former First Lady, Hajiya Maryam Sani Abacha.

He later worked with the former Head of State, Late General Sani Abacha before he was deployed as federal ministerial Secretary before attending National War College as a Fellow.

He also served in various administrative capacity under Borno State Civil Service.

The deceased was Born in 1958 in Bama town of Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
