Borno: Foundation Visits OPHK, Solicits Collaboration For Pe

The Kalthum Foundation for Peace has visited the headquarters of the Northeast Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) at the Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri, the Borno State's capital. 

The founder of the foundation, Ambassador Ummu Kalthum and her delegation were received by the Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force (JTF) OPHK, Major General Ibrahim Ali.

This was contained in a statement made available on Thursday by the Theatre Commander.

According to the statement, the founder of the foundation explained that Kalthum Foundation covers "Crisis management, women empowerment, religious tolerance, peacebuilding, remote medical assistance, resilience, Sexual and Gender-Base Violence (SGBV), conflict management as well as intelligence support".

She further solicited collaboration with the OPHK to maintain peace in the state. 

She said the foundation sought to identify with the Theatre Commander and congratulate him for having assumed duty as Theatre Commander on January 28, 2023. 

She assured the commander of their commitment to ensuring that peace is completely restored in the Northeast. 

In his response, the theatre Commander, Major General Ali, expressed delight over the visit and commended the foundation for their usual support to the OPHK. 

He further assured the foundation of the Theatre's commitment in sustaining the existing partnership.
