Borno Lawmakers Commiserate With Victims Of Gubio Market Fir

Two Borno lawmakers at the green and red chambers have commiserated with victims of the recent market fire in Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State.

​​​​​The lawmakers were Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno, representing the Borno North and Chairman Senate Committee on Judiciary and Anti Corruption, and Usman Zannah, representing Kaga, Magumeri and Gubio Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Northeast Development Commission (NEDC).

The fire incident had razed shops and properties worth millions of Naira. 

The lawmakers who paid a sympathy visit to the LGA presented the cash sum of N3 million to support the victims.

Zannah who equally represented Senator Monguno, explained that out of the N3 million, N2 million was from the senator while N1 million was his support to the victims.

The cash sum was received on behalf of the victims by the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the LGA, Mali Bulama Mali Gubio.

During the visit on Saturday, the lawmakers prayed for Allah's protection against recurrence of the unfortunate incident.

They prayed to Allah to pave way for the victims to recover from the incident.

On his part, Modu Alhaji, alongside other stakeholders commiserated with the traders over the incident.

He commended the lawmakers for showing their concern to the victims of the fire incident.
