Borno Market Fire: Zulum Supervises Renovation Work

The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, has visited the Maiduguri Monday Market razed by fire to supervise the ongoing renovation work.

During the visit on Tuesday, the governor was received by the chairman of the committee inaugurated to oversee the project, Alhaji Zarami Dungus.

Dungus led the governor around the market area to witness the progress of work. 

The governor expressed satisfaction of the level of work done and commended the efforts of the committee. 

The governor also directed the committee to keep the public updated on the donations received after every two weeks for transparency.

This was contained in a statement made available on Tuesday by the spokesperson to the governor, Malam Isa Gusau. 

According to Gusau, Dungus told the governor, "The disbursement of the palliatives and funds being released for relief of the victims is currently ongoing and nearly completion."

He further appreciated the governor for his commitment to the development of the people of Borno State.
